Industry events have been one of the most effective channels in our space for years. Whether you sell used and refurbished iPhones, trade Brand NEW and CPO stock, or build tools and services around this market, you’ve probably been invited to these conferences before. They stay popular for one reason: it works. Face-to-face meetings are still the fastest way to build trust and move business forward.
This year Europe has no shortage of conferences. These are the events we at Orient Telecom consider the most useful and inspiring for our goals in 2026: meeting serious buyers, tracking supply-and-demand signals, and building relationships that turn into repeat business.
The top European events for the secondary mobile market in 2026
1) gsmX and MWC Barcelona 2026
Dates: 25–27 February 2026 (gsmX) and 2–5 March 2026 (MWC)
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Best for: high meeting volume, broad networking, industry visibility
If you’re considering Barcelona week, the clock is already ticking. gsmX runs one week before MWC and is directly focused on our world of distribution and wholesale. MWC is much bigger and more general, but many industry people still attend because Barcelona becomes a meeting point for everyone in the wider mobile ecosystem.
Now, the honest nuance. For years, this week was “must-attend” for almost everyone. In 2026, more people are questioning it because the industry is getting more specialized and more focused events are growing. Still, both make our recommendation list for different reasons:
- gsmX is built for professionals dealing in mobile phones, accessories, and consumer electronics, which makes it a strong fit for Brand NEW, CPO, AS IS, and used/refurbished device traders.
- MWC is broader, but it can still be valuable if your goal is meetings and bigger-picture connections.
Our team will be in Barcelona, including our Sales Director David He, who will be meeting clients and partners in person and sharing Hong Kong market insights. If you’re coming, message us early, because meeting slots fill up fast during this week.
2) Reconnect Expo 2026
Dates: 25–27 March 2026
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Best for: secondary-market focused networking, buyer conversations, fast relationship-building
Reconnect is one of the most concentrated European gatherings for the secondary mobile ecosystem, with a strong mix of wholesalers, refurbishers, and trading companies. This year, the event is expected to draw 1,000+ participants.
Organizers’ promotion has been stronger than we’ve seen before and bringing some news into the exhibition area. For example, there will be a Legends Lounge, where interviews, podcasts, and discussions are expected to happen during the show.
For us, Reconnect has been interesting from day one, especially from a brand-building angle. That’s why Orient Telecom is sponsoring Reconnect Amsterdam this year, and our Sales Director David He will be involved in the Legends Lounge program.
3) Retech Days Europe 2026
Dates: 27–28 May 2026
Location: Berlin, Germany
Best for: circular economy, compliance themes, refurbishment ecosystem, serious industry operators
Unlike classic trading exhibitions, this one attracts more of the operators and brands building long-term positioning, not only the day-to-day sellers. As our space gets more competitive, brand and credibility matter more.
Retech Days Europe brings together telecoms, refurbishers, service providers, and trading companies focused on circular economy and the secondary side of electronics. It’s also a good place to meet larger, more structured organizations and have conversations that go beyond just “what’s your price today.”
We’ve attended Retech Days events before, and we’ll join again in Berlin. For us it is a right place to discuss quality, transparency, and the long-term value of giving devices a second life, while still keeping business conversations practical.
4) ITC Malta 2026
Dates: 9–12 June 2026
Location: Malta
Best for: concentrated meetings, new company discovery, relationship-driven deal flow
Many people know ITC for its strong social side, but the real value is that it is one of the most meeting-heavy events in our space. ITC positions itself around 800+ delegates and a global audience, which matches what we see in the crowd.
And here is the real proof from our side: on our last visit, we met 200 new companies, and it translated into 20+ new partnerships within the same year.
We’re joining again this year, and we treat ITC like a meeting sprint. If you attend, plan meetings early, because the best value comes from scheduled conversations, not random walk-bys.
5) GITEX Europe 2026
Dates: 9–12 June 2026
Location: Malta
Best for: concentrated meetings, new company discovery, relationship-driven deal flow
GITEX Europe is broader than secondary mobile, but it can be valuable for partnerships that touch logistics, fintech, device lifecycle, and enterprise buying. It’s a different crowd and a different purpose compared to the pure secondary-market events.
Our practical take: this is one of those shows where a booth can make a big difference, because it’s large and wide. If you attend without a clear target, it’s easy to waste time. If you attend with a focused plan, it can open new doors.
We have included GITEX in this list because it connects us with partners and tools that can improve execution, which matters more every year in this market.
6) IFA Berlin 2026 and Circular Tech Awards
Dates: 4–8 September 2026 (IFA)
Circular Tech Awards: Saturday, 5 September 2026
Location: Berlin, Germany
Best for: circular economy narrative, electronics ecosystem, visibility, partnerships
IFA is a major consumer electronics event, and it remains a strong place for broad exposure across the electronics world. But it’s not automatically “high ROI” for secondary mobile unless you plan it well. It works best for targeted meetings and partnerships, not casual wandering.
The Circular Tech Awards add a more focused sustainability and circular-tech angle, built specifically around second-hand tech and accessories. If you want a stronger circular narrative and industry visibility, that timing is worth paying attention to.
You will see Orient Telecom at IFA Berlin, and we’re aiming to be present around the Circular Tech Awards conversations as well. If you’re coming to Berlin, let’s connect.
What these events tell us about the EU market in 2026?
Across Europe, buyers are getting sharper about the same trade-offs: price vs lead time, grade accuracy vs quantity, and availability vs consistency. The suppliers that win are the ones who execute cleanly, communicate clearly, and stay consistent when the market gets noisy.
And here’s the bigger point: EU competition is not shaped only inside Europe. Hong Kong supply flow still influences model availability, pricing pressure, and the rhythm of the secondary market, especially on used and refurbished Apple categories. The teams that stay ahead are usually the ones who show up, compare notes in person, and keep learning faster than the market moves.
If you’re attending any of the events above, treat it like a business tool, not a trip. Book meetings early, go in with a clear goal, and use the week to collect real signals you can act on the next day.
